Shellac ~ Terraform

A captivating sound emerges here after a lengthy first track that centers around a few notes and precise rhythm section. This serves as a clever introduction for the rest of the album. Overall, stellar production give the songs a consistency mastered together by two of the most prolific studio engineers of the time. Steve Albini (the pixies, jesus lizard) Bob Weston (mission of burma). Highlights include the song “Canada” and quick pop gem ”Copper” winding down the disc.

Nasty minimal rock from 1997!

“Know what you’re trying to do before you do it. Turning knobs at random isn’t enlightening any more than throwing paint at a wall blindfolded will let you paint a nice picture.”
