American Marxism,excerpts

There is tension between the elite who privately own productive resources and the multitudes who are made dependent who, as Karl Marx noted, must sell their lives in order to live. Within this relationship of power, the constitution protects the power of the powerful.

The strategy of using thought control emerged out of the governments propaganda campaign during WW1. In the 1920’s Edward Bernays, who served on the government propaganda commission during the war wrote, “the conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democracy.”

During the same period, Walter Lippman devised the term “manufacture of consent” which he called an “essential art in the practice of democracy.”

Student Posing as a Bidder in Goverment Auction Jacks up Prices for Oil Companies….

In Utah, student, TIM DeCHRISTOPHER wanted to be apart of the protest of big oil companies that were trying to buy up land in Utah, to use for drilling. He entered a goverment auction and bid on over 22,000 acres of land and WON, with no intentions of paying for it.

That will save the land from drilling for a few more months. As of time of this article no charges have been pressed on Tim.

“Well, basically, the Bush administration was trying to rush through this auction as quickly as possible to get it done before Obama took office, because they knew that it wouldn’t be acceptable under any other administration other than Bush and Cheney. And so, they just circled vast swaths of southern Utah. Their initial announcement, they included pieces of property that had houses on them in Moab and included property that they didn’t even have rights to drill in or they didn’t have rights to sell off and included a lot of areas around national parks. And so, they rushed through the process and didn’t have time to do adequate environmental impact statements, didn’t have time to take an adequate amount of public comment or even input from other federal agencies. And there was a big battle with the National Park Service, because they were upset over a lot of areas that were included in there. But luckily, they also didn’t have time to make sure that all the bidders were bonded, which is how I got in so easily.”

Evening in strange-hold
magic, lasting
elegy and slate.
Fixed upon no lesson when,
as a whip cracks air depends.
Onto others culled from need,
cause is worthy climb begins.
Waiting bundle finds in trees.
Roots dramatic never ends,
more likely alien new buttered,
Candy store fishermen ghosts,
Suburb sunset moonrise.

Moonrise with waters roll in eyes,
vain, glorious grave of night contained,
the plains have hidden winds to dry,
and Jupiter twangs a key.

The lighting up ahead in blades,
holds memory filled lens,
through to see
happy lamps shine bright,
trail soothing homes blue glossy
temperament.
Skew lofty gentle limb
half-right.

They call it Cold Wave, it’s French music from 1978-1983, post punkish, new wavy, but all awesome. This comp has a stand out band called Artefact, it’s a brilliant combo of synths, wierd arpegios, and funky basslines.

G’s up Ho’s down…..

Oakland is to be the featured city in a new series entitled “Gentlemen of Leasure.” The shows is about a pimp trying to get out of the Ho game. Hollah!!

Oaktown represent.

The only down side is the is that the Terrible Ronald Vernie Dellums is opposed. According to Abc 7’s website the TV show The Wire has been a positive impact on tourism and the economy in Baltimore, where that show was set.

Hopefully other city officials will give them the needed permits to make it happen…..

Factoid bubble floating high,
Can you think?
Imagine why,
tabloid scribe leads men in,
fishing, laughing, cry.

Timeless orbit,
boiled sea,
dragon fruits,
of wisdom tree.

Grieving town,
those, them.

Dwelling offered,
amidst within.
